Hand in Paw's New Digs - For the children and therapy animals that serve them

Hand-In-Paw, has future plans to relocate its headquarters from Southside to three acres in Irondale. The newly purchased property is located at 4762 Overton Road with access to Interstate-459. Hand-In-Paw needs more space for programs and pet-partner volunteer training; a dog-friendly yard: and space for a resource library. Funding for the proposed multimillion-dollar facility will come from reserves, grants and a future capital campaign.
Hand-In-Paw trains therapy animals and their handlers to comfort and stimulate children with special needs, youths at risk, adults in long-term hospital care and senior citizens in assisted-living facilities.
