The historic building (above), located at 201 41st Street South, will soon be home to Avondale Brewing Company. Renovations began earlier this year and the brewery is set to begin operations no later than early 2011.
Built in 1885, the site was originally a boarding house for railroad mill workers. The building also housed a bank, a fire station and, most recently, a saloon. The structure has been vacant since the 1980s. Real estate agent Colby Lake has partnered with contractor and brewer Craig Shaw to renovate the 4,000 square foot building.
